In this Issue: SalesPad Featured Functionality: Workflow | Convergence 2011 & Rock-N-Rave | March Schedule SalesPad® Featured Functionality: Workflow SalesPad workflow allows you to more effectively manage documents through your business process, saving you time and money and making your business more efficient by adding control and visibility. Learn how: SalesPad Workflow Demonstration: Click to Watch the Video SalesPad Workflow allows you to set up a process flow for each of the document types used in your business. You define the steps (order, name, sequence, control) that each document type moves through from beginning to end. In addition, you can configure workflow rules that evaluate various conditions as the document moves. About 35 different rule conditions can be applied at each step in the business process. For example, workflow can be set up to evaluate a customer's credit or aging, item availability, or the total margin on the sales document. In addition to the standard workflow rules, we frequently work with users to develop custom workflow rules to meet their specific business requirements. Workflow Setup Sales Monitor Document Splitting Workflow queues and rules are configured on the Workflow Setup screen. All document types appear on the left portion of the screen. For each document type, process steps are configured on the top part of the Workflow Setup screen and rules are set up on the lower half of the screen. When a document is released in SalesPad, it will be evaluated for rule conditions and moved into the next specified queue. You can set up the workflow so that if a rule applies -- for example, the customer is over the credit limit or the document contains backordered items -- the document can be sent to a different queue. Workflow rules can also be set up to apply process holds, which are configured in Microsoft Dynamics GP. Another element of SalesPad Workflow is Sales Monitor, which is very useful in letting you see your complete business in a single screen and filter the view to show the details you want to see. Sales Monitor allows you to see each of the workflow queues configured for the selected document type, a count of all documents in each queue, and the total dollar amount represented in each queue. You can display a list of all documents in a queue by selecting that queue, and then open any document from the list. SalesPad Sales Monitor makes it simple to see exactly where each document is in its predefined path and take the appropriate action to move each to completion. Workflow also allows orders to be split into different documents depending on certain conditions such as the presence of backordered line items, items shipping from different warehouse locations, drop ship items, or different shipping methods or addresses on different line items. To illustrate, when a document containing a line item that is not in stock is saved and released, a screen pops up offering to split the order. Workflow is evaluated independently based on the split documents -- the new document with the backordered item can be sent to a separate queue than the document with the items that are ready to ship. SalesPad Order Splitting gives you enhanced control and a clearer view of the exact status of any document requiring special attention.
