Now you can easily create new items from within Inventory Lookup with the "New Item" button. Clicking the New Item button opens the Item Maintenance screen, where users will enter all necessary information for the new item including item properties, vendor information, and warehouse/location. Users can also enter and edit Item User Defined Fields within the Item Maintenance screen. Item Maintenance Screen Once all information is entered on the Item Maintenance screen, SalesPad returns to the Inventory Lookup screen, and your new inventory item is instantly available in search. Access to the Item Maintenance screen is controlled by Security in versions 4.0.987 and later. Under Inventory Lookup, "Can Create Items" must be set to True. In addition to adding new items through Inventory Lookup, SalesPad users can also add items to the Inventory Master by converting non-inventory items that have been added to any sales document. To do this, simply right-click any non-inventory item that exists on a sales document and choose "Convert Item." This will open the same Item Maintenance screen used for creating a new item. Users can edit existing items from the Item Maintenance screen by selecting "Convert Item" on an existing inventory item on a sales document, or from the Item Properties tab in Inventory Lookup, by clicking the ellipsis on the Item Number field: Contact SalesPad to get the newer build required to access the add new items functionality, and for more information, see SalesPad's Inventory Lookup document on our support site.
